Ignite!
At the Centre for Alternative Technology
The Ignite! project is founded on the belief that individual creativity is a
vital and volatile part of the complexities of childhood and growth.
The chosen theme of 'Space' was open to free interpretation by all the
young people who took part in the workshops.
Over the course of a day the grounds of the Centre for Alternative
Technology (CAT)
were explored and documented with digital cameras and GPS receivers. The objective
was to produce an interactive map that would chart reactions and experiences
of the area.
The structure of the map was made by the GPS tracks recording their movements
around the space,
and the spots were positioned by marking waypoints of where the photographs
were taken.
